Awards will vary depending on the tournament event. Only the first and second place teams are eligible for awards.

Looking for a great baseball experience, we have it for you at the Dr Pepper Youth Ballpark. It was so popular last season that we're bringing our One Day Tournaments back for 2008. This format is designed to allow teams to play in a tournament and attend a Texas Rangers home game all in the same day. Select from a list of dates below to take advantage of this one of a kind experience in the Metroplex.

Once your team registers for a tournament, we will e-mail or fax you a contract. We accept check, cash, credit card, or money order. All tournament spots are on a first-come, first-play basis. If you or your team fails to pay, your team will not be allowed to play.

Youth Ballpark Tournament Frequently Asked Questions

What is the age cut-off date? »

Ages for spring 2008 tournaments are based on the players age as of May 1, 2008.
Ages for fall 2008 tournaments are based on the players age as of May 1, 2009.

Is proof of age required? »

Coaches must hold players' birth certificates in case of protest. In the absence of a birth certificate due to protest, the player in question will be removed from the game and the tournament until proper documentation is presented.

Do the birth certificates need to be originals or copies? »

Both are acceptable.

When will the tournament schedule be available? »

The schedules will be e-mailed to the person who registered the team for the tournament when the schedule is finalized (Usually 1-2 weeks prior to the tournament). Schedules are subject to change.

Is there a dress code for the coaches? »

Coaches are not required to wear a uniform or polo during the games, but are expected to be dressed appropriately.

How many people are allowed in the dugout? »

Each team is allowed to have no more than 12 players and 3 adults (3 coaches) No bat boys or bat girls are allowed.

Do we need to bring baseballs? »

Teams must provide all game baseballs (Rawlings, Diamond, or other acceptable brand). We estimate two new baseballs per game. Please make sure foul balls are returned to the playing field immediately.

What happens if it rains? »

Our first priority is the safety of everyone at the facility. If the fields are judged unsafe, we will suspend, postpone, reschedule, or cancel games as needed. There are numerous factors in deciding when games are allowed to continue and we weigh each of those before making a decision. In the event of rain we will do everything within our power to stay as close to the game schedule as possible. However, because of limited field availability we may have to deviate from the printed schedule. If and when we need to alter the schedule, we will use the following procedures and priorities as our guide:

Our first priority will always be to make sure each teams plays their minimum number of games - we will try to maintain the original schedule as much as possible.
We will attempt to have a championship game.
We will never name a champion of a tournament without a championship game.
We may eliminate the semi-final round to ensure a championship game.
If rain or inclement weather forces tournament cancellation, refunds will be based on games started. If no games have started, teams will receive a full refund. If one game has started, teams will receive a refund of half of the fee to register. If two games have started, teams will not receive a refund.

Does the time limit apply if we are the last game of the day? »

Yes. We must treat each game fairly. Early games may have ended due to the time limit so that later games could be played on time. It would be unfair to allow the last game of the day to play beyond the time limit if earlier games were restricted by time.

What if our team withdraws from the tournament? »

In the event a team enters and pays the entry fee for any Dr Pepper Youth Ballpark and then chooses to withdraw, with or without notification:

If the team withdraws more than 14 days in advance of the event and notifies the Tournament Director, a full refund, less a $50.00 administration fee shall be refunded.
If the team withdraws less than 14 days in advance of the event, the team will not receive a refund.
If a team does not show up for an event or scheduled game, the team is disqualified from the tournament and no refund shall be given under any circumstances.

Are you affiliated with USSSA, Super Series, AAYBA? »

No. Our tournaments are open to any team (A, AA, AAA, Major, Classic or Select). Our goals for tournaments are to make sure that every child has the opportunity to play at the Dr Pepper Youth Ballpark.
