Derek Holland has become an advocate to the dangers of texting and driving and the cause is so important to him, he has partnered with the City of Arlington's Police Department in his efforts to get the word out about how dangerous it is to text and drive especially to young people.

Derek and Police Chief Theron Bowman participated in a "Keep Your Thumbs on the Wheel", Don't Text and Drive public service announcement that began airing in July 2011.

Derek would like to ask fans to join him in his commitment to "Keep Your Thumbs on the Wheel" and Don't Text and Drive. Anyone pledging, will also be entered into a drawing to win an autographed Derek Holland baseball which will be awarded at the end of September 2012. Upon successful entry, you can download a printable "Keep Your Thumbs on the Wheel" hang tag to keep as a reminder of your pledge - perfect for your rearview mirror!
