Texas Rangers Alumni Legacy
The Texas Rangers have entered into a long-term partnership with the Miracle League for the naming rights to the new Texas Rangers Miracle League Field at Randol Mill Park. The Miracle League mission is to provide opportunities for all children to play baseball regardless of their ability. The complex will consist of a custom-designed field with cushioned, synthetic turf to help prevent injuries, wheelchair accessible dugouts, and a completely flat surface to eliminate any barriers to wheelchair-bound players. The Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will help fund the long-term maintenance and upkeep of the field.

Joaquin Benoit
Joaquin Benoit
At the end of 2007, two tropical storms (Noel and Olga) inundated the Dominican Republic with heavy amounts of rain. With officials fearing a dam failure, they were forced to slowly release water from the Tavera Dame into the Yaque River. Downstream, portions of the city of Santiago were overcome with the ensuring flood. Joaquin Benoit, originally from Santiago, assisted in organizing a relief effort in the Metroplex by collecting clothes and food and delivering them to those in need back in his hometown. Several of Benoit's teammates and fellow Dominican ball players also chipped in with donations.

Benoit is also heavily involved with the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation, donating a portion of his salary each year and is active with the team's Hispanic outreach efforts, participating on the Winter Caravan and visiting local schools.

Eddie Guardado
Eddie Guardado
Eddie Guardado was blessed with a wonderful family and the talent to make a living as a professional baseball player. He and his wife Lisa were also blessed with a daughter, Ava, who is autistic.

Today, one in 150 children born in this country are diagnosed with autism. But studies show with early interventions these children have the opportunity to lead very functional lives in society. The Guardado family realizes the importance of helping others who are not as fortunate and cannot afford the needed resources, so they are creating the Eddie Guardado Foundation and Ava's Friends. The primary goal is to directly help those families in need today. The Guardado's want to offer other children the same chance to grow, develop, and live a full life.

For more information on how to donate time or resources to Ava's Friends, please contact the Eddie Guardado Foundation.
