Ranked fifth in American League with an average of 7.5 strikeouts-per-9.0...Became first pitcher in Brewers history and Puerto Rican native to throw a no-hitter when he accomplished the feat at age 22 on April 15, 1987 at Baltimore (128 pitches)...Finished T-4th in AL with three shutouts as a rookie in 1986...Named Texas League Pitcher of the Year in 1985 with Double-A El Paso...Signed by Milwaukee out of high school in 1983.

Married to Marilia...has four children: Natalia, Alondra, Marilia, and Isabella...graduated from Avon Old Farms High School in Connecticut in 1983...compiled a career record of 19-1 with a 1.5 ERA in three years at the school...In addition to baseball, captained cross-country and basketball teams...is in Avon Old Farms High School's Hall of Fame.
