Kevin Millwood had a tough time with the Mariners, allowing them five runs on 11 hits over seven innings. The Texas offense, however had it worse, scoring just one run and putting up only three hits and the Rangers dropped their second straight game.

Miguel Batista earned his career-best 16th win of the season with a one-run, three-hit outing against Texas. Raul Ibanez drove in two runs, the second on a solo homer in the seventh to cap Seattle's scoring. The win earned the Mariners the series win over Texas.
