After scoring eight runs on Tuesday, the Royals struggled to get anything going in Wednesday night's finale. The bats mustered just five hits -- although one was a two-run homer by John Buck in the seventh inning -- but they weren't enough to complete the comeback.
Right-hander Vicnete Padilla held the Royals scoreless on two hits over six innings of work and Hank Blalock drove in two of the Rangers' three runs as they won the finale of their three-game series. Michael Young plated a run with an RBI single in the fifth inning.
