Right-hander Jason Hammel surrendered five runs on seven hits and four walks over four-plus innings, and the Devil Rays went on to drop the series finale to the Rangers. Batting in the leadoff spot, Jonny Gomes had three hits, including a double, an RBI and a stolen base for Tampa Bay. The Devil Rays struck out 12 times.
