Marco Scutaro hit a grand slam and Donnie Murphy followed with a solo shot as Oakland opened the first frame with six runs. Alan Embree allowed the game-tying homer in the ninth, but the A's regained the lead and won on Mike Piazza's RBI single in the 13th.
