Late rally not enough
Rangers 8, Mariners 7
Mariners manager John McLaren argues a call with umpire Lance Barksdale. (Tony Gutierrez/AP)
 Sexson's three-run shot
Left-hander Horacio Ramirez's road struggles continued as he allowed eight runs on 11 hits in 4 2/3 innings to take the loss. The Mariners had an early two-run lead, but Ramirez couldn't hold it. Richie Sexson hit a three-run shot in the ninth to make it close. Jose Vidro had four hits and two RBIs.
