The inconsistency that has plagued Cliff Lee this season was on display again on Saturday, when the Indians lefty gave up five runs in the first inning and then settled down to allow just two hits through the next 5 2/3. The Indians rallied for four runs, including Grady Sizemore's 17th home run of the season, to pull within a run, but could not catch the Rangers, who pulled away in the seventh.
On the night the Rangers celebrated Sammy Sosa and his prolific career, Sosa's teammates did their best to ensure he would also enjoy a win. The Rangers pushed across five runs on six hits -- including three doubles -- in the first inning and held on for the win. Sosa was forced to leave the game in the third after being hit by a pitch in the helmet, but was not seriously hurt.
