Texas took the lead in the first inning on a Michael Young double after a leadoff triple by Kenny Lofton, but that was just the beginning. The Rangers scored two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings, and five more scored in the seventh to win their third straight.

There was good news and bad news on Tuesday. The good news: Jack Cust homered and the A's put an end to an 11-game streak of scoring three runs or fewer. The bad news: Chad Gaudin gave up five runs and the 'pen six more as the A's losing skid reached nine.
