Outside of a two-run fourth inning, the Angels' offense did not do very much, as four of its five hits came on consecutive singles in that inning. Chone Figgins was the only Angel to have a multihit game. Jered Weaver allowed three runs in five-plus innings.
The Rangers scored a run in each of the even-numbered innings, which was enough to put them ahead of the Angels. Marlon Byrd went 3-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored. The bullpen pitched three perfect innings to give Jamey Wright his second win.
