Sosa slams closer to history
No. 599 in the books By T.R. Sullivan / MLB.com
After going 17 games and 68 at-bats without going deep, Sammy Sosa ended his drought in grand style, belting a bases-clearing homer that gave the Rangers the win and brought him one tater away from achieving what only four others have done before him -- hit 600 homers.

Ross, Dunn homer in loss By Mark Sheldon / MLB.com
Matt Belisle went just five innings, allowing seven earned runs. Behind Belisle, the offense connected on 14 hits -- including homers by David Ross and Adam Dunn -- but the right-hander gave up the game-winning hit, a grand slam to Sammy Sosa that was the 599th homer of the slugger's career.
