Sosa historic in loss
Kameron Loe took the loss on Thursday, giving up seven runs in 5 1/3 innings. Sammy Sosa hit his fifth homer of the season in the sixth inning to set an MLB record by going deep in his 44th different ballpark. He added another blast in the top of the eighth for 594 total home runs in his career.

Behind a persistent offensive attack, and starter Paul Byrd, the Indians won their fifth straight Thursday afternoon, sweeping Texas out of Jacobs Field in the two-game series. A three-run sixth inning, capped off by a bases-loaded walk to Travis Hafner, all but finished off the Rangers.
