Right-hander Chad Gaudin allowed one run on four hits in six innings, but the Oakland bullpen ran into trouble as the A's lost to the Rangers. After Mike Piazza hit an RBI double in the fourth inning, Shannon Stewart connected on a two-run home run in the fifth.
