Batista stands tall
Miscues cost Rangers
A pair of errors led to an early four-run hole, and the Rangers were unable to climb out. Brad Wilkerson and Sammy Sosa each went deep. Sosa's was a two-run shot that followed Mark Teixeira's first extra-base hit of the season. Vicente Padilla went six innings, allowing six runs on six hits.

Series at a glance:
Mariners take advantage
