Mets starter Zack Wheeler looks to continue his strong run of pitching over the past month.

7/29/2014 | Hamels dominates Mets over eight scoreless innings

Phillies left-hander Cole Hamels is exactly the type of pitcher a contending team wants in a postseason race. The Phillies know that better than anybody. Hamels, who led the Phillies to the 2008 World Series championship, dominated Tuesday night in a 6-0 victory over the Mets at Citi Field. He allowed six hits, no walks and struck out eight in eight innings to improve to 6-5 with a 2.55 ERA.

7/28/2014 | Burnett struggles in series-opening loss to Mets

Maybe the Phillies' front office had a better Monday than its players. Time is ticking toward Thursday's non-waiver Trade Deadline, which is the most important thing happening for the organization this week. The backdrop of change created a somewhat strange scene in Monday night's 7-1 loss to the Mets at Citi Field, where the Phillies and Mets opened a three-game series.
