4/30/2013 | Motte ups the intensity of his throwing sessions
Jason Motte increased the intensity of his throwing on Tuesday, four days after he resumed playing catch to test the durability of his right elbow. Motte estimated that he made 25 throws from about 60 feet before throwing 10 more times at a 90-foot distance. He said the elbow responded well to the session.

Concern for Mat Latos was at a minimum on Tuesday after he exited Monday's start with tightness in his right hip. Latos, who threw six scoreless innings and 91 pitches in a 2-1 victory, did not return for the seventh inning because of the injury, which he sustained while hitting earlier in the night.
