Texas Rangers and Carter Bloodcare to hold blood drive on Sunday at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington

City of West requests gift cards in lieu of actual items

Arlington, Texas - The Texas Rangers will team with Carter BloodCare to host a Blood Drive for fans coming to the Rangers-Mariners game, tomorrow, Sunday, April 21. The Blood Drive will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame. Fans can enter the Blood Drive through the Hall of Fame entrance located on the concourse behind the Lower Home Run Porch. Game time on Sunday is 2:05 p.m.

The Rangers have been overwhelmed with the generosity of their fans the last two days in donating essential items to assist the victims of the devastating explosion and fires that took place in West, Texas on Wednesday evening.

Officials from the City of West have requested that the Rangers ask fans who are attending Sunday's game and wish to make a donation do so in the form of gift cards or cash donations. West officials have indicated that there will be a long-term need for assistance of the city's residents, and this is the best means for fans to help.

These items will be collected outside the Rangers Ballpark gates beginning at 12 noon on Sunday and continuing until 30 minutes after the 2:05 p.m. first pitch.

The Rangers plan to deliver the items that have been collected to the citizens of West, Texas next week.
