"It's a little bit sore, but not that bad," Andrus said after the game. "I came out mainly to prevent anything worse happening. I'll play [Monday at Boston]."Andrus injured himself sliding into home plate in the seventh inning, trying to score from first on a double by Michael Young. He was thrown out at the plate. Andrus stayed in the game through the top of the ninth. He batted with Mike Olt on third and none out. The Rangers tried a squeeze, Andrus missed the pitch low and away, and Olt was out at home. Andrus then grounded out.
Earlier in the game, Andrus delivered a two-run triple in the Rangers' five-run fourth inning. He finished the day 2-for-5.
