Webb to throw light session on Saturday
SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Updates on Rangers pitchers: C.J. Wilson has a bronchial infection but is still doing his work and planning on pitching against the Royals in the first Cactus League game on Sunday. "It's not an issue...it's just gross," Wilson said. Brandon Webb had a long-toss session on Friday and will have a light session on Saturday. The Rangers will decide on Sunday if he is ready to go back on the mound. Webb has been limited to flat-ground throwing since the beginning of camp. He is still trying to build up arm strength after missing almost two complete seasons because of a shoulder injury. Right-handers Eric Hurley (strained hamstring), Mason Tobin (general fatigue) and Miguel De Los Santos (biceps tendinitis) have all resumed throwing off a mound and could be ready for game action in the next week. Wilson will be followed on Sunday by right-handers David Bush, Mark Lowe, Tanner Scheppers, Yoshinori Tateyama, Ryan Tucker and Pedro Strop. Colby Lewis, Michael Kirkman, Darren Oliver, Seth McClung and Zach Jackson pitch against the Royals on Monday. Matt Harrison will start Tuesday against the Padres. That would have been Webb's start if the Rangers had not decided to slow him down.
