The Texas rotation includes rookies Luis Mendoza, Matt Harrison and Tommy Hunter and could use Millwood alongside veterans Vicente Padilla and Scott Feldman. However, Millwood is trying not to rush back. "I want to get back as soon as possible, but I don't want to put myself in position to miss the rest of the season," Millwood said. "I just have to walk a fine line."
If Millwood's groin reacts favorably Tuesday and doesn't act up Wednesday or the day after, a rehab assignment could follow.Millwood has been on the disabled list since July 24, his second stint on the DL due to groin issues, which has been frustrating for him. "You definitely want to be able to help the team win," Millwood said. "I thought I did a few things in the offseason to keep this from happening." In other injury news, Bradley will be available to pinch-hit for Monday's game, but Washington wasn't sure when the American League's on-base leader would return to the starting lineup. Bradley has missed six starts with a strained left quadriceps. He suffered the same injury in June and missed six games, but the injury wasn't thought to be as serious this time around. Washington reiterated on Monday that Bradley shouldn't need a trip to the disabled list. "He went out and worked today and it was better than it was yesterday," Washington said. "He was available to pinch-hit last night and he's available to pinch-hit tonight."
