Saltalamacchia leaves game in sixth

Rangers catcher exits with strained right groin muscle

BALTIMORE -- Rangers catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia left Saturday's game in the top of the sixth inning with a strained right groin muscle.

The injury occurred when he was batting in the top of the sixth inning and had to leave with a 1-2 count. Max Ramirez took over.

Saltalamacchia has had this problem earlier this year and the Rangers don't think it's serious. But they're already without catcher Gerald Laird, who is sidelined 4-6 weeks with a pulled hamstring muscle and won't be back until after the All-Star break.
