Kinsler blasts first spring homer

Rangers wrap up exhibition play with loss to Double-A Frisco

Rangers at the plate: Ian Kinsler hit a solo home run over the seats in left field in the third inning. Michael Young and Marlon Byrd were the only other starters with base hits.

RoughRiders at the plate: First baseman Chris Davis started a four-run fifth inning with a double. Second baseman Corey Ragsdale doubled home three runs that inning, and catcher Max Ramirez had a two-run double in the eighth.

Rangers on the mound: Left-hander Kason Gabbard pitched four perfect innings, gave up four runs in the fifth and returned for a scoreless sixth. Kea Kometani and Bill White, from Triple-A Oklahoma, gave up three runs.

RoughRiders on the mound: Right-hander Scott Feldman was the winning pitcher, allowing four hits and one run in five innings. Four other pitchers worked an inning each, with right-hander Warner Madrigal giving up a run in the ninth.

Up next for the Rangers: The Rangers left after the game for Seattle, where they will open the season Monday against the Mariners. Right-hander Kevin Millwood will start for Texas.
