Minneapolis, MN - The Texas Rangers today announced that catcher-first baseman Mike Napoli has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left oblique muscle.

To replace Napoli on the roster, catcher Taylor Teagarden has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock of the Pacific Coast League. Teagarden (#2) will be in uniform for this afternoon's game in Minnesota.

Napoli has been bothered by the oblique strain for the last several days and aggravated it during Saturday's game with the Twins. He is batting .221 with 10 homers and 25 RBI in 46 games with the Rangers this season.

This will be Teagarden's third stint with Texas this season (April 20-May 6; May 18-23). He is 0-for-3 with a walk in 3 games, one start on May 2 at Oakland. The right-handed batter is hitting .326 (28-86) with 9 homers and 18 RBI in 24 games/23 starts at catcher for the Express in 2011.

Teagarden has a .216 (69-320) average with 16 homers and 47 RBI in 107 career major league games, all with Texas from 2008-11.
