Minneapolis, MN – The Texas Rangers today announced that second baseman Ian Kinsler has been reinstated from the Major League Paternity Leave List. He will be active for this afternoon's game in Minnesota.

To make room for Kinsler, the club has optioned infielder Chris Davis to Triple-A Round Rock.

Kinsler's wife, Tess, gave birth to the couple's second child and first son, Jack Jamisson Kinsler, on Wednesday, the day that Kinsler was placed on the Paternity Leave List. A player can be placed on that list for a maximum of 72 hours.

Kinsler is batting .235 with 7 homers and 23 RBI in 60 games for the Rangers this season.

Davis was recalled on Wednesday to replace Kinsler on the active roster and was 2-for-4 in his only game, a start at 3B on June 8 vs. Detroit. He is hitting.269 with 3 homers and 4 RBI in 21 games over 2 stints with the Rangers this season.
