Anaheim -- The Texas Rangers announced today that the club has reinstated right-handed pitcher Rich Harden off the 15-day disabled list. To make room on the 25-man roster for Harden, the club has optioned right-handed pitcher Doug Mathis to Oklahoma City (AAA).

Harden is the scheduled starter for tonight's game in Anaheim. He was placed on the disabled list June 12 with a left gluteal muscle strain and has made 4 injury rehabilitation starts with Oklahoma City (AAA), going 0-2 with a 5.19 ERA (10 ER/17.1 IP). He took a no decision in his last Triple-A outing on Monday at Memphis (6.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R-0 ER, 1 BB, 10 SO, 96 pitches/67 strikes).

The Rangers' no. 2 starter to open the season, Harden has gone 3-3 with a 5.68 ERA (41 ER/65.0 IP) in 13 games/starts for Texas in 2010. His last start with the Rangers came on June 11 at Milwaukee.

Mathis has gone 1-1 with a 6.04 ERA (15 ER/22.1 IP) in 13 relief appearances with Texas this season. He has tossed 3.0 scoreless innings over 3 appearances since being recalled for his 3rd stint with the Rangers on July 20. Mathis was also with the club from Opening Day-May 14 and also July 6-9.

Following all of today's moves, the Rangers still have a full 40-man roster.
