Texas Rangers announce 2009 Spring Training broadcast schedule
Television, radio, and webcasts give club most extensive spring coverage ever
tickets for any Major League Baseball game

The Texas Rangers today announced their 2009 spring training broadcast schedule, the most extensive in the team's history.

Fox Sports Southwest will televise five games with 18 contests to be broadcast on radio. In addition, the Rangers will provide coverage of eight games free of charge on texasrangers.com Gameday Audio.

Television coverage begins with the Rangers game on Saturday, March 7 versus the Chicago White Sox at Surprise Stadium at 2:05 p.m. CT. There will be three other FSSW telecasts from Arizona: Sunday, March 22 against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Glendale (3:05 p.m. CT); Wednesday, March 25 versus Arizona at Surprise (8:05 p.m. CT); and Friday, March 27 against Milwaukee in Surprise (8:05 p.m. CT). Fox Sports Southwest will also carry the Rangers final exhibition game of the spring on Saturday, April 4 against Kansas City at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington (1:05 p.m. CT).

On the radio side, 12 games will be broadcast by the Rangers new weekday flagship station, 105.3 The Fan (KRLD FM). There will be six games on NewsRadio 1080 (KRLD AM), which will broadcast all regular season weekend contests in 2009. The first radio broadcast will be Thursday, February 26 versus Kansas City on 105.3 The Fan at 2:05 p.m. CT.

The eight free webcasts on texasrangers.com Gameday Audio begin on Thursday, March 10, when the Rangers host San Francisco at Surprise Stadium at 2:05 p.m. CT.

The final two spring training games of 2009 will also be broadcast in Spanish on 1270 KFLC AM, Friday, April 3 in Frisco (7:05 p.m. CT) and Saturday, April 4 at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington (1:05 p.m. CT), both against Kansas City.

Saturday, June 20 at San Francisco: TBD to 8:05 p.m. CT
Sunday, August 16 vs. Boston: 7:05 to 1:05 p.m. CT
Friday, August 21 at Tampa Bay: 6:08 to 6:38 p.m. CT
