Club adds three players to roster

ARLINGTON -- Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels announced today the club has recalled OF Freddy Guzman and LHP A.J. Murray from Triple-A Oklahoma, purchased the contract of LHP Bill White from Double-A Frisco and has placed RHP Willie Eyre on the 60-day disabled list (recovering from Tommy John surgery).

Guzman appeared in 133 games for Oklahoma this season and batted .269 with four home runs and 34 RBI. He also had 56 stolen bases (in 70 attempts) which was the most in Triple-A baseball in 2007.

Murray has appeared in 8 games for Texas in 2007 and has gone 0-1, 5.00. In 41 games (one start) for Oklahoma this season he was 3-3, 3.08 with five saves. He threw 52.2 innings for the RedHawks and allowed 42 hits, 19 runs (18 earned) with 25 walks and 51 strikeouts. He also held opponents to a .221 average against.

White made 43 appearances at Double-A Frisco, where he was 2-0 with two saves and a 4.44 ERA (24 ER/48.0 IP). He struck out 64 against 26 walks. He pitched in one game for Triple-A Oklahoma in April. He signed with Texas as a free agent March 28, 2007 after being released by Washington. He had spent the previous seven seasons in the Arizona organization.

Eyre underwent Tommy John surgery on Aug. 27. He went 4-6, 5.16 with one save in 33 games (two starts) for the Rangers in 2007 before being injured.
