ARLINGTON -- Texas Rangers General Manager Jon Daniels announced today that the club has purchased the contract of RHP John Wasdin and optioned LHP CJ Wilson to Triple-A Oklahoma.

Wasdin, 33, is 3-3, 2.17 (14 ER/58.0 IP) with 61 strikeouts and 17 walks over 12 appearances for Oklahoma this season. He is 2-0, 0.65 (2 ER/27.2 IP) over his last 4 appearances/starts. Wasdin has compiled a record of 36-36, 5.26 (435 ER/743.2 IP) over parts of 7 major league seasons with Oakland, Boston, Colorado, Baltimore and Texas.

Wilson, 25, is 1-2, 5.12 (11 ER/19.1 IP) over 16 appearances for the Rangers this season. He began the season on the disabled list and made four appearances for Oklahoma on a rehab assignment, April 6-12, allowing only one earned run over 3.1 innings pitched.

With this move the Rangers still have 40 players on the club's 40-man roster.
