ARLINGTON, Texas -- Texas Rangers General Manager Jon Daniels announced today the club has signed RHP John Wasdin to a Minor League contract.

Wasdin was released on March 29 and cleared waivers. He will begin the 2006 season in the starting rotation for Triple-A Oklahoma.

In seven Spring Training appearances, Wasdin was 0-2, 10.64 (13 ER/11.0 IP). He appeared in 31 games/6 starts for the Rangers last season, going 3-2 with four saves and a 4.28 ERA (36 ER/75.2 IP).
