    The Pittsburgh Pirates announced today that the Club is extending its popular Spring Ballpark Pass ticket plan with a new monthly Ballpark Pass plan starting in June and good for the remainder of the 2017 season.

    The Pittsburgh Pirates today claimed right-handed pitcher Jhan Marinez (pronounced YAWN ma-REEN-yez) off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers. The announcement was made by Pirates Executive Vice President, General Manager Neal Huntington.

  • Pirates roster moves

    The Pittsburgh Pirates today placed outfielder Gregory Polanco on the 10-day disabled list (retro to May 15) with a left hamstring strain. To take Polanco's place on the 25-man active roster, outfielder Danny Ortiz has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.

  • Pirates announce roster moves

    Outfielder/infielder Adam Frazier and infielder David Freese have been reinstated from the 10-day disabled list today. Frazier, who was recalled from his rehab assignment today, had been on the D.L. since 4/23 with a left hamstring strain. He completed a three-game rehab assignment last night with Triple-A Indianapolis, where he went 4-for-10 with three walks, a double and an RBI while starting two games in left field and one at second base.

    ROOT SPORTS and the Pirates are now streaming in-market Pirates games for authenticated pay TV subscribers. As part of an agreement with MLBAM, Pirates games will stream at no additional cost to authenticated pay TV subscribers of ROOT SPORTS distribution affiliates who have chosen to participate.
