Political Analysts Agree: Ohio Will Be Swing State in American League All-Star Final Vote
Indians Corey Kluber in the running for AL team's final spot
Cleveland, OH-As evidenced by Cleveland being named host city for the 2016 Republican National Convention, Ohio once again will be a swing state in the next presidential election cycle.
But first: Ohio also will play a crucial role in the American League All-Star Final Vote, political analysts said on Tuesday.
Indians pitcher Corey Kluber is one of five candidates in the ongoing Final Vote. Here's how fans can vote:
- Online at Indians.com and MLB.com/vote
- By texting A2 to 89269
- On Thursday from 10AM-4PM, by using the hashtag #VoteKluber on Twitter
There is no limit on the number of votes fans can cast, and one lucky fan who votes 28 or more times will win a VIP Experience, featuring a meet-and-greet with Kluber himself!
"No doubt about it, Ohio will decide the AL All-Star Final Vote, just like it does each presidential cycle," said Henry Gomez, Northeast Ohio Media Group political analyst. "Ohio voters need to get out and make their voices heard in this election."
Kluber is up against Rick Porcello (Detroit), Chris Sale (Chicago), Garrett Richards (Los Angeles) and Dallas Keuchel (Houston), and as of Tuesday morning, stood in fourth place in voting. Another update will be released Wednesday morning and a final one on Thursday morning.
