The defending Western Division champion Los Angeles Dodgers open the 2014 National League season in Australia on Saturday morning with a two-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Dodgers will open in style as they will debut the new alternate road jersey featuring the name "Dodgers" across the front. The Dodgers will wear this uniform at all Sunday road games this season as well as a few additional games to be announced.

This marks the first time since 1999 the Dodgers have returned their team name to the front of the jersey. The last time the Dodgers wore alternate jerseys was in 2011, when they wore the powder blue Brooklyn jerseys for six home dates.

"We're excited to begin the 2014 season in Australia," said Dodgers' Executive Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer Lon Rosen. "The Dodgers are a team with a rich history and a world brand and it is fitting that we debut our new road uniforms on this world stage."

Clayton Kershaw and Hyun-Jin Ryu will pitch the opening two games for the Dodgers. Cy Young Award winner Kershaw will be opposed by Wade Miley and Ryu will go up against Trevor Cahill.

The first game will begin at 1 a.m. PT on Saturday morning and will be televised on SportsNet LA with Vin Scully calling the action. Charley Steiner and Rick Monday will handle the radio broadcast on KLAC (570 AM) and the Dodgers' English Radio Network. Jaime Jarrin and Pepe Yniguez will call the game in Spanish on KTNQ (1020 AM) and the Dodgers' Spanish Radio Network. The second game will be televised and broadcast on Saturday night at 7 p.m. PT.
