Rangers Press Release
Texas Rangers to reach three million in home attendance on Thursday night
Club establishes single season home attendance record tonight
ARLINGTON, Texas—The Texas Rangers will reach the three million mark in home attendance for the first time in franchise history when the club hosts Cleveland in the finale of this series on Thursday.
Tonight’s paid attendance of 36,001 increased the Rangers’ 2012 season total in 70 home dates to 2,967,041, surpassing the all-time mark of 2,946,949 set in 2011 and just 32,959 short of 3,000,000.
The Rangers will be the third team in the majors to reach 3,000,000 fans in 2012, joining the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees.
In recognition of the milestone, Capital One Bank will provide 40,000 Rangers t-shirts to fans tomorrow night, and these will be distributed as fans enter Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The Rangers will also randomly select a lucky fan attending Thursday’s game as the “three millionth fan.” Other special activities are also planned.
Good seats remain for Thursday’s game. For the Seattle series, there are approximately 1200 reserved seats remaining for both Friday’s and Saturday’s games and about 1000 reserved seats left for Sunday. Tickets can be purchased at texasrangers.com, by calling 972-RANGERS, or at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington ticket office.
