Rangers right-hander Colby Lewis was activated off the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, and he will get right back on the mound to face the A's in Oakland Coliseum.

Lewis went on the DL June 26, retroactive to June 24, with right forearm tightness. He hasn't pitched since June 23, when he allowed eight runs -- seven earned -- on 12 hits over four innings against the Colorado Rockies. Lewis is 6-6 with a 3.51 ERA in 15 starts this season and will start Texas' series finale against Oakland on Wednesday afternoon.

To clear up a spot on the active roster, the Rangers optioned left-hander Martin Perez to Triple-A Round Rock. Perez was recalled from Round Rock on June 26 and went 1-1 with a 5.54 ERA in four games -- two of them starts -- in his first stint in the Majors.
