ARLINGTON -- Double-A Frisco infielder Mike Olt is joining teammate Jurickson Profar at the All-Star Futures Game on July 8 at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City.This is the second straight year that Profar has been selected to play in the game. He was 1-for-2 with an RBI triple for the World team last year in Phoenix. This is the first time that Olt has been selected. They will not be teammates in Kansas City. Olt has been picked for the United States team, while Profar, who is from Curacao, is on the World team again. As of Wednesday morning, Olt was hitting .312 with 20 home runs, 58 RBIs and a .612 slugging percentage for Frisco. He was leading the league in home runs and slugging percentage. He was second in RBIs and third with a .418 on-base percentage. Olt, who was with the Rangers in big league camp, was the 49th overall pick out of the University of Connecticut in the 2010 First-Year Player Draft. He was the Rangers Minor League Player of the Month for May and is currently ranked as the organization's No. 3 prospect by MLB.Com. As of Wednesday morning, Profar was hitting .293 with a .373 on-base percentage and a .481 slugging percentage. He led the league with six triples and was third in the league with 47 runs scored. He also had nine stolen bases. He is the top ranked prospect in the Rangers system according to MLB.Com. Profar, 19, was signed as an amateur free agent in 2009 and was the Rangers Minor League Player of the Year in 2011, as well as the South Atlantic League's MVP while at Class A Hickory. He had a 29-game hitting streak earlier this season. Profar and Olt helped Frisco clinch the South Division first half title for the fourth consecutive year. The Roughriders are managed by Steve Buechele, who is also going to Kansas City. He will be one of the coaches on the World team.
