SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Mike Olt tied it for the Rangers with a solo homer in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Reds and Rangers tied, 5-5, on Friday at Surprise Stadium.

Kris Negron doubled home Billy Hamilton with the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning for Cincinatti before Olt's jolt provided the final scoring.

Reds starter Johnny Cueto came out of the game after two innings with some tightness in his right elbow. He does not expect it to be serious. He allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out two. He threw 40 pitches, including 20 for strikes.

Rangers starter Colby Lewis gave up three runs in four innings, but was still thrilled with his outing. He gave up the three runs in the first two innings but finished the afternoon by retiring seven of the last eight batters he faced.

"I felt really good," Lewis is said. "I was actually excited about today. My curveball was sharp, I was getting ahead of hitters, and I felt like everything was in sync."

Lewis threw 55 pitches, including 39 for strikes, while allowing five hits, a walk and three strikeouts. He now has a 4.00 ERA for the spring.

Ian Kinsler hit a two-run home run for the Rangers, giving him five long balls in 10 games this spring. In a battle of struggling Most Valuable Players, Cincinnati's Joey Votto had the slight edge over Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton.

Votto went 2-for-3 with an RBI after going 2-for-16 (.125) with eight strikeouts in his first nine games. He had a run-scoring single in the first, and a double in the third, his first extra-base hit of the spring. Hamilton was hitting .240 for the spring before going 1-for-3 with an RBI single.

Reds outfield prospect Dave Sappelt continued his torrid spring, going 2-for-3 in the leadoff spot. He is now hitting .524 in Cactus League play.

Up next for the Rangers: Mitch Moreland went 1-for-2 on Friday and will take a .360 batting average into Saturday's game with the White Sox at 2:05 p.m. CT in Glendale, Ariz. Matt Harrison will pitch for the Rangers and the game will be available on MLB.TV, as well as broadcast in Texas on TXA21. John Rhadigan will be making his debut as the Rangers' lead television broadcaster.

Up next for the Reds: The Reds and Cubs are splitting up their squads to play two games on Saturday. In a 3:05 p.m. ET game in Mesa, Ariz., Homer Bailey will get the start as he tries to secure one of the two open rotation spots. Jay Bruce and Brandon Phillips will join Bailey on the squad that will be managed by bench coach Chris Speier. That game will be available on MLB.com's Gameday Audio.

At 4:05 p.m. ET, Dusty Baker will helm the squad featuring Joey Votto and Drew Stubbs in the game vs. Chicago in Las Vegas. Starting that game will rotation candidate Mike Leake, who is coming off of a three-inning relief appearance where he gave up four runs and nine hits. That game will be available on MLB.TV.
