ARLINGTON -- The Rangers will open the 2010 season at home against the Toronto Blue Jays, according to the schedule released by Major League Baseball on Tuesday. The Rangers will also be getting visits from the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates in Interleague Play, while going on the road to play the Milwaukee Brewers and the Florida Marlins. The Lone Star Series remains a part of the Rangers' Interleague schedule as well as a pair of weekend series with the Astros. The Rangers play the Astros at Minute Maid Park from June 18-20. The Astros come to Arlington on the weekend from June 25-27. The season starts on Monday afternoon, April 5, against the Blue Jays as the Rangers open at the Ballpark in Arlington for the second year in a row. After three games against the Jays, the homestand continues with three against the Seattle Mariners. The first road trip will be to Cleveland, New York and Boston beginning from April 12. The Rangers play the Yankees on April 16-18 in their only trip to New York this season. The Rangers host the Yankees twice in 2010. They have a two-game series against them from Aug. 10-11 and a three-game series from Sept. 10-12. The Boston Red Sox make one trip to Arlington from Aug. 13-15. The Cubs come to Arlington for the weekend from May 21-23. It will be the second time they have played at the Ballpark in Arlington since Interleague Play began in 1997. The Pirates will be in Arlington from June 22-24. The Rangers play at Milwaukee from June 11-13 and then go to Florida for three with the Marlins from June 15-17. This is the first time the Rangers have played the Brewers in Milwaukee since Interleague Play began and will mark their first trip to Miller Park. The Rangers' previous trip to Milwaukee was in 1997 when the Brewers were still in the American League and still playing at County Stadium. The Rangers will be home on the Fourth of July, facing the Chicago White Sox on a Sunday. The White Sox are the first of three opponents on a 10-game homestand that also includes the Indians and Orioles -- the longest homestand of the season. The Rangers also close out the season at home with three games against the Mariners from Sept. 27-29 and four with the Angels from Sept. 30-Oct. 3.T.R. Sullivan is a reporter for MLB.com.
