Padilla scratched from his next start
Sore right shoulder to keep him out; Holland to take his place
ARLINGTON -- Vicente Padilla has been scratched from Saturday's start against the Rays because of a sore right shoulder."Any time somebody can't post up, I'm concerned," pitching coach Mike Maddux said. "It's not what landed him on the disabled list earlier. It's just a little cranky." Padilla is scheduled to play catch on Friday and throw a bullpen session on Saturday. The Rangers hope he will be ready to start Tuesday against the Angels. The Rangers' rotation for this weekend's series against the Rays is Tommy Hunter on Friday, Derek Holland on Saturday and Scott Feldman on Sunday. Kevin Millwood is expected to go Monday against the Angels. "It's precautionary," Padilla said. "Better to stay back a couple of days from my next start than be out for a month." Padilla was on the disabled list with right shoulder bursitis from May 22 until June 2. On the season, he is 6-4 with a 4.75 ERA.
