Rangers at the plate: Frank Catalanotto was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. He is now hitting .310 for the spring. Marlon Byrd hit his second home run of the spring, a two-run shot in the third. The Rangers were down to their final two outs in the ninth when catcher Adam Melhuse tied the game at 10 with an RBI single.

Brewers at the plate: J.J. Hardy extended his hitting streak to six games with a solo home run in the fourth inning and a two-run single in the sixth as Milwaukee stormed back from an early 7-0 deficit. Hardy finished 3-for-4 and is batting .500 (12-for-24) during his streak. Mike Lamb came off the bench and delivered a pinch-hit, three-run home run in the Brewers' five-run fourth inning. Mike Cameron scored the winning run on a wild pitch with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Rangers on the mound: Warner Madrigal has a chance to win a spot in the bullpen but has stumbled lately. He allowed four runs in two innings against the Brewers and has allowed eight runs in his last two appearances. His ERA is now 11.57. Doug Mathis started so Matt Harrison could get his work done in a Minor League game. Mathis allowed one run in the first three innings, then allowed five in the fourth.

Brewers on the mound: Braden Looper, sidelined for much of the spring with an oblique injury, made his Cactus League debut and struggled, allowing six runs, five of them earned, on seven hits in two innings. He was scheduled for four innings or 60 pitches. Struggling reliever Carlos Villanueva worked one of his best innings this spring, holding the Rangers hitless in the fourth.

Up next: It's a Brewers-Rangers rematch on Friday night in Surprise. Opening Day pitcher Kevin Millwood pitches for Texas against Milwaukee's Dave Bush in the 8:05 p.m. CT game in Surprise. It's the Brewers' first night game this spring and the Rangers' second in three days.

The Rangers are hoping to have Michael Young back. Young left Tuesday's game against the Mariners with a tight left quadriceps muscle. Most of the Milwaukee regulars will get the night off, but red-hot right-fielder Corey Hart will be in the lineup and so will third baseman Bill Hall.
