Dodgers at the plate: Right fielder Xavier Paul hit a double, a triple and a single in consecutive at-bats. His two-run triple in the second pushed the Dodgers ahead, 4-0. Delwyn Young, A.J. Ellis and Blake DeWitt also drove in two runs. Third baseman Juan Castro hit a solo home run in the fifth.

Rangers at the plate: In the bottom of the second, catcher Taylor Teagarden hit a three-run home run. Andruw Jones hit a his first home run of the spring, a two-run home run to left field, to cut the Dodgers' lead to 10-5. Left fielder Brandon Boggs had three hits, including a home run, his second of spring. Designated hitter Hank Blalock also hit a home run.

Dodgers on the mound: In his first start of the Cactus League schedule, right-hander Jason Schmidt was charged with two hits and three runs in two innings. He walked two batters and also stuck out two. He allowed the home run to Teagarden. Schmidt's replacement, Claudio Vargas, gave up four runs, three home runs, and six hits in 2 1/3 innings. He struck out two hitters.

Rangers on the mound: Rangers ace Kevin Millwood was charged with 10 earned runs on 12 hits in three innings. He walked two batters and struck out one. Kris Benson allowed one hit, a solo homer, and struck out four in three impressive innings.

Up next: Texas will play host to the San Francisco Giants at Surprise Stadium at 2:05 p.m. CT on Tuesday. Scott Feldman is scheduled to start for the Rangers.

The Dodgers will host the Arizona Diamondbacks at 2:05 p.m. CT at Camelback Ranch-Glendale, with Hiroki Kuroda, Jeff Weaver, Eric Stults and Guillermo Mota scheduled to pitch for Los Angeles. Brandon Webb will start for the D-backs.
