ARLINGTON -- The Rangers are ready to go pink on Mother's Day.

Center fielder Josh Hamilton will be among the Rangers who will be wielding a pink bat in honor of his mother and in support of breast cancer research during their Mother's Day game against the Athletics on Sunday at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

All Rangers position players have the option of using the pink bat on Sunday. Players are also wearing pink wristbands, necklaces and ribbons.

"I think it's a good thing," Hamilton said. "You want to do something special for mom on Mother's Day and nothing's better than her sitting back and watching me swing a pink bat."

The Rangers have several events planned including 400 special guests from the Susan G. Komen Foundation sitting in the Pink Out Zone in Section 11. Sandie Kramer, a 15-year survivor of breast cancer, and her daughter Shannon Johnson will be honored before the game.

Mothers and wives of Rangers players will be honored before the game and both teams will autograph home plates that will be auctioned off. The proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
