The MLB.TV NexDef plug-in brings additional functionality to the media player such as higher quality HD video, radio audio with video broadcasts, and more. To adjust the video quality in the media player, click on "Video Quality" in the bar along the bottom of the player. In this section, you can toggle between Standard and NexDef quality levels. NexDef quality is higher HD quality than what is available in Standard mode. Under "Video Quality", you can also disable or enable the media player's ability to automatically adjust the quality. In the settings window, check the box next to "Enable NexDef by default". Another media player setting that NexDef can enable is the ability to launch live in-progress games from their beginning, instead of the current live action of the game. The MLB.TV Media Player has many features that allow you to fast forward, rewind, and jump to different parts of the game. With the NexDef plug-in, these features can be accessed in both live and archived games. Without NexDef installed, these features are only available in archived games. Scroll over the lower part of the video and the media player's control bar will appear. In the controls is a bar that you can use to scroll to a different part of the game, as well as controller buttons. The curved arrow button rewinds the player for ten seconds.
Clicking on the rewind button once will rewind the game at 2X speed in thirty second intervals, clicking on it a second time will rewind at 4X speed in one minute intervals, and clicking it a third time will move it to 8X speed with one minute and thirty seconds intervals. To resume the game, click the play button. The fast forward button works the same as the rewind button. There is also a "Slow-Mo" button and a "Live" button which, when watching a live game, will return you to the live action of the game.

With the "Clickable Linescore" feature, you can skip to a particular half inning or at bat. To access this, click on "Clickable Linescore" on the top right of the control bar. This will bring up a clickable scoreboard and listing of at bats. Clicking on an inning will bring you to that part of the game. "Enable NexDef by default" sets the media player to enable NexDef once the media player is launched. NexDef must be installed for this feature to work. Having this option enabled allows the media player to start streaming at the best possible quality level. It also allows the media player to access NexDef required functionality at launch.
The "Spoilers" section contains an option to "Hide scores for all games". This will prevent you from seeing the scores of games within the media player.
The option to "Play live games from the start" will have the media player launch an in-progress game at the top of the first inning, to prevent you from seeing the game in progress when it opens. To enable this feature, NexDef is required. The media player's settings also allow you to configure "Highlights and Player Tracker Alerts".
The MLB.TV Media Player has multiple viewing options to watch up to four games at once.
You can view multiple games at once in the media player by selecting one of the view options on the top left corner of the media player. The first option is the default Single Game view, the second is for Picture in Picture, the third is a two game Split View, and the fourth is Mosaic Mode, which lets you view up to four games at once.

Once you select a different viewing option, the Today's Games list will open up on the right side of the player. You will also see an orange square around one of the game windows. Click on one of the new, blank windows, the orange square will appear around that window. From either the Today's Games or Archive tab, click on another game that you would like to watch. You can also drag that games listing from the tab, into the window. The game will begin playing in that window.

When viewing multiple games at once, whichever game you click on and see the orange box around, will be the game whose audio you hear. In Picture in Picture mode, if you put your mouse over the top of the smaller window, a bar will appear along the top of that window with two options: Swap and Close. You can drag the smaller window to any area within the player by clicking on the bar, holding down the click, and dragging the window to a different section of the player. Let go of the click when you have the window in the spot that you would like to leave it. Clicking on "Swap" in that will switch which game is in the larger window, and which is in the smaller one. "Close" will close the smaller window and play only the game in the larger window.

While watching multiple games, you can switch between viewing options, such as from Picture in Picture to Split View by clicking on the corresponding view icon on the top left of the media player.

Clicking on Mosaic Mode will bring up four equally sized windows. Select a game for each of these windows, the same way as previously explained. You can still access the controls for each window by putting the mouse in the lower part of the window.

To view a game in Full Screen, in any viewing mode, click on the square icon in the bottom right of the Media Player. Once in Full Screen, to go back to the default player size press the ESC key on your keyboard.

A list of alternative video and audio broadcasts for that game will appear. Home and Away video broadcasts are available in the "Video" section. After selecting your desired broadcast, the game will continue playing, but with the feed that you selected. An "Audio Overlay" section is available allowing you to watch the video broadcast, while listening to the synced radio coverage. The NexDef plug-in is required for this feature. When watching a live Home video feed, you can hear natural stadium sound by selecting "PARK" under Audio Overlay. Selecting a radio feed in the "Audio Only" section will play the radio broadcast without video.
