ARLINGTON -- The Texas Rangers announced today that the club has recalled right-handed pitcher Scott Feldman (#39) from Double-A Frisco. To make room on the roster for Feldman, the club has optioned right-handed pitcher Kazuo Fukumori to Triple-A Oklahoma.

Feldman, 25, is scheduled to make his first Major League start in today's series finale against Toronto at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. Prior to this season, Feldman had just four starts in his pro career, all in 2003 and '04 in the Arizona League. His only start and appearance this season came for Double-A Frisco on April 4, at Springfield, earning the win (7.0 IP, 3 H, 1 R-ER, 1 BB, 2 SO, 0 HR, 89 pitches-56 strikes). Feldman took a perfect game into the fifth and a no-hitter into the seventh in that outing.

He was 0-1 with a 5.25 ERA (7 ER/12.0 IP) in five relief appearances for Texas this spring. He would become the sixth starter used by the Rangers this season with today's outing.

Fukumori allowed six runs in 1 1/2 innings over three appearances for Texas, his first games in the Major Leagues after several years of pitching in Japan. He issued four walks (one intentional) with no strikeouts over 14 batters faced. This will be his first stint in the Minors in the United States.

With these moves, the Rangers still have a full 40-man roster.
